3. Honoring the life of Tim ‘Tarzan’ Wilson

“….I want to thank you and all the mates that came before. We had a hell of a good time. Your mate, Tarz”
(quote from The Decline of the West: Final Note by Tim Tarzan Wilson)

Tim ‘Tarzan’ Wilson, OURFC founder, passed away on Jan. 26, 2026.  Tarzan was one of the original three founders of the OURFC in 1974. In 1975, he and Leah Ott formed the OU women’s team; later known as The Roses of Oklahoma RFC. He was an original coach along with Jon Woods. Throughout his time at OU, Tarzan was a vocal advocate for the women’s team.

“We should all combine our talents to make a better club. We should all share the pride when the women win.” – Tim Tarzan Wilson

The Roses look forward to celebrating the life of this extraordinary man at this year’s annual HOF/ Alumni dinner and weekend events.

In lieu of HOF inductions this year both the men and women have dedicated this year’s events to honoring Tarzan. We hope all current players, alumni, and supporters will join us!

Have memories of Tarzan to share?
The men’s team is asking for photos of Tarzan to include in their video memorial:

5. 2026 Roses Need Your Support
The current Roses need support and there are lots of ways to help. OURAA is a non-profit so all donations are tax deductible.

  • Volunteer your time on the pitch. Holly can use guest coach support during team practices this season. Practice is every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-10pm.
