Roses Win First D2 Lonestar Conference Championship

The OU Roses finished their spring 2026 season the best way possible: as champions. Competing at the Lonestar Conference Championship in College Station, Texas, the Roses claimed the program’s first Division 2 Lonestar Conference title in late March.

“Your Lady Roses fought hard until the very end,” the team posted after the final. “What an incredible way to finish the season, especially for our seniors.”

The road to College Station

The Roses opened the spring season in Dallas with a statement weekend. Taylor led the way with five tries, Sara added a try and four conversions, Amiya scored two tries, and Gracie, Juli and Anya each crossed the line once.

From there the team traveled to San Marcos on February 14, then to the Houston Tournament in early March, where the Roses competed for the automatic qualifier before heading to College Station for the conference championship.

Players of the Match

After the championship weekend, the Roses voted on Player, Forward and Back of the Match awards for each game:

  • Player of the Match: Jessica Nightingale (prop), Gracie Corey (wing), Taylor Peterson (prop)
  • Forward of the Match: Illiana Flores (hooker), Anya Townsend (prop), Amiya Carter (prop)
  • Back of the Match: Juli Vega (center/wing), Cadence Mott (flyhalf), Katlyn Harbert (wing/flyhalf)

Thank you to the Lonestar Conference for hosting, and congratulations to every Rose, coach and supporter who made this season possible.
